The Fan Experience Company was founded in 2005. They have been using real fan experiences (via a variety of visit programmes blending real fan and experienced assessor feedback) to create a catalyst for growth at all levels of football (and other sports).

We continue to work at every level of football, both men’s and women’s, professional, amateur and grass roots, at national association, league and club level throughout Europe.  We are acknowledged as leaders in fan engagement and the only consultancy focusing on the ‘off line’ experience: an area of significantly more value to clubs outside of the ‘elite’.

As well as the EFL, with whom we have had an extremely positive and effective working relationship since 2006, we also count the following among our clients: UEFA, the FA, the National League, the SPFL, the FAWSL, FAI / League of Ireland, the Netherlands’ Eredivisie, the Estonian Premium Liiga, the Danish Superliga, the DBU Women’s League and various Leagues in the English National League System (including community & ‘grass roots’).

Clients in other sports have included NFLUK, Rugby League’s Super League, FIA’s Formula E and England Hockey.

6 million more children are now enjoying EFL football since we first designed the Family Excellence programme in 2006/07. These unprecedented results and the innovative approach designed to achieve them have now twice been recognised: in 2013 with the European League Best Practice Award and then again as recently as June 2018 with the Sports Business Awards ‘Best Fan Engagement’ Award.
